A Safe and Legal route for unaccompanied child refugees.
Would you like this to happen to your child. Of course not and nor does anyone else. That is why we are trying to do something about it. You can too. Start a Safe Passage campaign in your own local authority area and appeal to your council to commit to accepting just 3 unaccompanied refugee children each year for 10 years in a fully-funded government plan. No dangerous sea crossings, no sexual exploitation, no child trafficking. A Safe and a Legal route to safety. Contact us to find out howPosted by Dorset #80YearsOn on Wednesday, 14 November 2018
On the eve of the Second World War British communities put pressure on the government to help 10,000 kids escape Nazi Germany. 80 years on, child refugees still need safe passage. Today it’s our turn. Thousands of children are still fleeing war and they need safe passage to the UK. Under the banner of Safe Passage, we've been speaking local authorities to encourage them to take in refugee children - just like we did 80 years ago in the Kindertransport. And success! The new Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council unanimously pledged to accept 30+ children over then next 10 years. But now we need your help...
Nationally there is a shortage of foster carers and BCP Council need to recruit new foster carers locally for children and young people. In return they offer fantastic training and ongoing support, fees and allowances and a dedicated team who will support you on your fostering journey.
