Nationally there is a shortage of foster carers and BCP Council need to recruit new foster carers locally for children and young people.
What is the need?
On the eve of the Second World War British communities put pressure on the government to help 10,000 kids escape Nazi Germany. 80 years on, child refugees still need safe passage.
Today it’s our turn. Thousands of children are still fleeing war and they need safe passage to the UK. Again today we need to establish a lasting route to safety for child refugees at risk from across the world.
What have we been doing?
Under the banner of Safe Passage, we’ve been speaking local authorities to encourage them to take in refugee children – just like we did 80 years ago in the Kindertransport. And success! The new Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council unanimously pledged to accept 30+ children over then next 10 years. But now we need your help…
What can you do?
Nationally there is a shortage of foster carers and BCP Council need to recruit new foster carers locally for children and young people. In return they offer fantastic training and ongoing support, fees and allowances and a dedicated team who will support you on your fostering journey.
