Acclaimed international pianist Margaret Fingerhut has devised a very special concert that she is performing across the UK to raise awareness of refugee needs as well as to collect funds for City of Sanctuary refugee groups. Through music and words, Margaret tells the story of some of the many composers who were forced to leave places they considered home. Her programme includes Chopin, Grieg, Handel, Haydn, ProkoEiev and Rachmaninov, and she has specially commissioned a new piece by Arian, the Kurdish Syrian composer who wrote the Refugee National Anthem for the 2016 Olympics. All the proceeds from the concert will go towards Bournemouth and Poole City of Sanctuary.
